Ever since I first had the slightest interest in anime and manga, waaaaaaaay back when (my dad was stationed in Japan when I was little so I grew up with little trinkets and Japanese cartoons before I even realized it) I've wanted to cosplay. I've tried so many times. It's not that I can't make a costume or buy one...it's simply I can't find anyone else around me who would do it with me. Part of the appeal, to me at least, is making costumes and having fun with friends. If it's only me...then I don't see much fun in that.

I'd go running around town dressed up with friends, but if I'm by myself well then I just look like an idiot.

I was supposed to do Sailor Moon (laugh. go ahead.) with a group of friends but when it came down to it they all bailed. I tried this about...three or four times and every time it failed. So I have up on that.
Bleach has been my latest love and I have a few friends who like it, so I thought maybe that would work.

We were supposed to do something for Halloween, since there aren't really any cons around where I live so we had to settle. I was going to be Momo and we had a Kon, Yachiru, and Orihime.

Want to know the only character we had? ...If you guessed Momo then good for you! You get....a...uhm...cookie. Yes. E-cookie.

Yep. It was only me. Everyone else bailed. But I still did it. Couldn't make it in time so I bought it and tweaked it a bit. I dyed my hair and styled it, etc. I was pretty happy. A few people recognized me and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I had fun. The only thing that would have made it better was, ya know, not being the only one.

It's silly I know, but I envy the cosplayers on here who do photoshoots and make costumes with their friends. I want to cosplay to do that. The only one I know who would do that with me lives in California. ...Other side of the country for me. -.-;

So...Maybe I should just give up?
